Sundays in Bed With…#8

weekly meme hosted by midnightbookgirl.com

Ginger > This morning I have been tackling the book Blue Monday by Nicci French.

I say tackling because from page 1 the book hasn’t been as exciting and drama filled as other French books I have read previously.

The blurb tells a great plot but the book is really not living up to its name.

Blurb: Five-year-old Matthew Faraday is abducted. His face is splashed across newspaper front pages. His parents and the police are desperate. Can anyone help find the little boy before it is too late? Psychotherapist Frieda klein just might know something. One of her patients describes dreams of seizing a boy who is the spitting image of Matthew. Convinced at first the police will dismiss her fears out of hand, Freida reluctantly finds herself drawn into the heart of the case. A previous abduction, from twenty years ago, suggests a new lead – one that only Frieda, an expert on the minds of disturbed individuals can uncover. Struggling to make sense of this terrifying investigation, Frieda will face her darkest fears in the hunt for a clever and brutal killer…

Specs > This morning Specs has been reading a novella called Plugged in by Steven Atwood

This ebook is approx 80 (kindle) pages long and is available on Amazon for free!

Description from Amazon:  The excitement of being a mercenary turns into more than newly retired US Special Forces operative David Jackson expected. An old friend called him about a great opportunity to get back into the fray for a lot of money. He immediately “enlisted” in Peter Gaun’s mercenary group to train and equip the new European Union Army. They soon discover that the EU plans to use bio-implants to enhance their Soldier’s abilities. As condition of employment, David agrees to have the implant installed in his neck. During the operation, he notices that chip is doing more to him than simply increasing his reflexes and sharpening his aim. What is the real purpose of the implants? Once he learns the truth, can he save himself and his friends?

Today was a double Sunday in bed with. Look out for our reviews of these books sometime this week!
